EID

Hey People,

Eid Mubarak to all of you.
I know , I'm a few days late in wishing you guys, but I think its the thought that counts.
Eid is a very auspicious day for Muslims and it has a history too.
Not going into the history, you can always find it through Google. =D
The best part( for me anyway) is the holidays we get with the Eid Celebrations.
Its a time when families get together and have fun. Its also a time for relaxation and getting in touch with people you haven't met in a long time.
I think holidays like these are necessary, because otherwise , you would go insane with all the work load and pressure of working here.

I'm kinda bored now, I think the holiday spirit is setting in me now... =D

Well, Eid Mubarak to you again and take care.

Alcohol Addiction

Hey People

Mostly everyone I know, drinks Alcohol, be it beer, liquor, wine champagne or any other form.
And a small portion of my friends, OK scratch that, most of my friends, smoke and do drugs.
I myself, if you have doubts, drink beer, wine and liquor. Don't have any favourite brands for liquor or wine, but beer... I prefer Heineken .Also want to try champagne, but , hey, there's a time for everything, yeah? =D
I know what you guys will be thinking, an 18 year old guy talking about addiction, what must he know?
Well, I don't know much, but I do know people who got addicted to alcohol so much that it destroyed their life.
And I see it everyday around me.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you shouldn't drink it.. Everything in moderation is a good thing. But just make sure that you don't go over the top.
There's a saying in my native tongue  which when translated, roughly means,"  Even medicine, if too much , is poison"

The bottom line here is, Do everything in moderation, and remember , never go over the top.

Don't forget to comment, also mail me your suggestions about my blog.

Cyber Bullying: Is it something we walk ourselves into?

Hey People,

Recently I have heard about , through social media, of course, about the sad and untimely demise of a certain Amanda Todd, who committed suicide , after a long and hard battle against bullying.
She was cyber bullied as well as physically and mentally. In the end, it was too much for her and she took her life.
It really is a sad story.
But the villain here , after all , is bullying. Or is it?
Through her story, its pretty much clear that she led herself to this trap. And don't take me wrong, I'm not saying what the man did to her was any thing heroic or saint like. He was a demon and will still be.
Bullying is just torture. You never want to go through that, nor will you ever want your kids to go through it.
Bullying in school is physical and can be stopped or controlled up to a certain extent by teachers and parents.
But when it comes to cyber bullying , all those rules don't apply. Everyone wants privacy, to the extent that family members hide details from each other. Everyone is in the privacy of their own log -in ID and password, that they think its possible for them to do anything.
I could now tell you how to stay safe in the cyber world, but that, my friends is for the professionals. Search in Google and you will find thousands of professionals just wanting to come to your help. But it's a craft that has to be learned by our own, I say. And it mostly takes only common sense, the same sense that we use in our day to day lives.
Could it be that social networking websites are actually becoming a place where a person could easily be taken advantage of? You can hear about it in the news about children being taken advantage of and being bullied, could it be that, social networking sites are actually having a negative impact on human life , than a positive impact,it should have.
After all, it does help to connect people.
Food for though readers, food for thought.

R.I.P Amanda Michelle Todd, may your family and friends be finally able to come to terms with your loss.

Indian Education System: Are we prepared to face the world?

Hey People,
Today I was talking to my mother and then a thought suddenly struck me.
That the Indian System of Education, gives too much emphasis on marks and lesser on technical knowledge.
I mean, look around you. You see everyone so raged up on marks that we fail to actually see that there are more talented students out there, who will be able to do more than all the studious students out there.
We have many examples in our life itself, people who have made their mark in the world without completing their college or without a degree.
It may also be that sometimes, the one who used to study more, actually will not be able to achieve anything in his life, because he had no knowledge of how the world worked, as he was too wrapped up in his cocoon of studies and books.
Granted, you require a basic knowledge to go ahead with your life and all the stuff, but inst technical knowledge equally important?
Other Education Systems give equal importance to all activities  Be it studies, sports or technical stuff, like how to use a equipments.
Graduates from Indian Schools have with them no experience of anything, except from whatever they read.
It could be that even our society is way too focused on marks, that they forget what is actually important.
Even the Great Mahatma Gandhi wanted an educational system where technical knowledge was given to the students along with knowledge from books.
Few schools today follow that path, with mostly opting for CBSE or other equally competent curriculum.
I say that we should bring about a change in the curriculum and include technical knowledge.
And while we're at it, also include sex education... It would help a lot of divorces from happening.
